How Do Lens Implants for Cataracts Work?

Imagine having a camera with a cloudy lens — it would take blurred images. Similarly, cataracts cloud your eye’s natural lens, affecting your vision. Lens implants, or intraocular lenses (IOLs), are medical devices designed to replace your eye’s natural lens once cataracts have clouded it.

During cataract surgery, your clouded natural lens is carefully removed, and the IOL is inserted into your eye, taking the place of the removed lens. This new lens works harmoniously with your eye’s structure, providing clear vision.

Types of Intraocular Lenses (IOLs)

The exciting part is that different types of IOLs are available to meet your specific visual needs.
